Channel letters are three-dimensional, illuminated letters that identify and promote buildings and businesses. Here are four reasons why you should consider using channel letters for your northern New York or Vermont business.
Your choice of font for signage is important. You don’t just want to use font that’s visually pleasing and that catches the eye, you also want to choose a font that conveys something about your business. For example, “Sam’s Restaurant” has a very different energy to, “Sam’s Restaurant”. The character of the font you choose is exaggerated by utilizing all three dimensions. Marketing and branding are all about instilling an idea into people’s minds and associating your business with a feeling. You should take every opportunity to make that identity more evident.
How far away your channel letter sign can be seen depends on a number of factors, chiefly, how large your channel letters are. You can choose to make your channel letters as large as you want (as long as they can still fit on your building), but they have one inherent advantage regardless of their size. Channel letter signs are illuminated (without illumination, they are called dimensional letters). Illumination extends the range of visibility for a sign, allowing it to generate more impressions.
Apart from extending the range of visibility, channel letters’ illumination also guarantees they can be seen at any time of day and in any weather. From the dead of night to snowy or rainy days, channel letters remain visible. Illumination also allows channel letters to outcompete other visual stimuli.
Clearly, there are a lot of advantages to illumination, but lighted signs are a bit more complicated to install because you have deal with all the electrical components. Thankfully, you have options with how you can install your channel letters. You can mount your channel letter sign directly to the wall or you can use one of two mounting structures: a raceway or wireway. A raceway not only mounts the letters to the wall, but it also houses the electrical components of the sign. A wireway also mounts channel letters to the wall, but it contains only the wiring, so it is thinner than a raceway.
