Learn all about window film and why, if you want any sign installed on a window, it’s important to consider using it to maximize the potential of your signage.
If you have a business in Plattsburgh, Ticonderoga, Burlington, VT, or anywhere nearby, and that business has a front window, you’ve probably considered installing a sign on that window. A window sign can identify a business, property, or organization and attract people inside. Window signs and graphics often display the name of a business, perhaps along with a logo and/or slogan. Retail businesses can use their shopwindows to display promotional graphics and images.
Window signs often function as outdoor signage because, even though they’re installed on the inside of the window, they project outwards. This shelters them from the often-harsh elements we get here in the North Country. However, if you want to display a large graphic to attract people into your business, you’ll end up blocking your whole window. This means you won’t be able to see outside. Right? Not if you use window film.
To understand how window film works, consider a one-way mirror. This is a mirror where, seen from one side, it reflects light just like any other mirror. But from the other side, you can actually see through the mirror as if it were a normal window.
Window film is very similar. With window film, people outside your business or building see a full-scale, beautiful graphic. But inside you can still see outside your window. Window film achieves this effect by including many small perforations in the graphic. These tiny holes create this effect.
Window film is great for shopwindows, but it has other applications, too. Did you know you can use window film on your work vehicle? Vehicle graphics turn cars, trucks, vans, and even boats into mobile billboards. You can use vehicle graphics to identify your vehicle, promote your business, and give your work vehicle, or fleet of vehicles, a professional appearance.
However, some graphics are so big they wrap around the vehicle and appear on multiple sides. Windows can break up these graphics, though. With window film, however, you can even display images on your vehicle’s windows.
